Proposed Fare Increase

The Butler Transit Authority (BTA) is accepting public comment on a proposed base fare increase.

The proposal would:

·         Increase the local base fare by 25 cents from $1.25 per trip to $1.50.

·         Eliminate 25 cent cash transfers

This proposed increase is to the local base fare only. All local bus pass prices would remain the same. Also, all commuter fares and commuter bus pass prices would stay the same as well.

This is the first price increase for Butler Transit Authority fares since July of 2012.

Written comments can be submitted until 4:30 pm on June 10, 2024 by the following methods:

·         By mail to 130 Hollywood Drive, Suite 101 Butler, PA 16001

·         By email to info@butlertransit.com

·         In person at public meeting or at the terminal at 128 West New Castle Street in Butler

A public hearing will be held on May 9, 2024 to receive public comment regarding the proposed fare increase for the local base fare. The hearing will be held in the training room of the Butler Transit Authority admin building at 130 Hollywood Drive from 1-2pm.
