Butler Transit Authority is pleased to announce that its commuter buses have been outfitted with drop tire chains. The tire chains can be engaged by the driver when a loss of traction occurs on wintery road conditions.
This drop-down chain system is similar to those used by municipalities and emergency vehicles. Funding was made available by the Bureau of Public Transit/PennDot.
The Authority operates a fleet of five, 45 foot Made in America MCI coach buses that travel between Butler and Pittsburgh.
