The Butler Transit Authority (BTA) announced that September 2024 is its 35th Anniversary. The Authority became incorporated as a Municipal Authority on September 28, 1989. Over the past 35 years the Authority has grown and experienced many changes including a name change, numerous bus styles, added evening and weekend service, commuter service, diesel to CNG fleet conversion and much more.
During the month of September BTA plans on celebrating its progress through the years with various highlights and promotions including:
§ Technology Advances - Tech related promotional giveaway – celebrating BTA’s technological advances. Incorporating technology has brought solutions to every aspect of the Authority’s operations. Some of this technology includes live bus tracking, fare collection app and smart cards, user alerts & subscriptions and much more.
§ Modernization - Social media stroll down memory lane – see how far BTA has come with expansion of service, accessibility, new and improved fleet and facilities, etc. BTA will be scanning archived media articles and photos as well as including fun facts and trivia in its social media posts. § Sustainability – Public transit in general is important in promoting cleaner air and reducing the nation’s carbon footprint. With its LEED certified building and CNG buses, BTA is dedicated to doing its part to help protect the environment.
§ Economic Benefits – Celebrate how affordable riding with BTA can be with a one day sale on the local 25-day unlimited pass. BTA was incorporated as an Authority on September 28th. On that date, passengers can purchase the 25-day unlimited pass through the new RideBTA app for $35 dollars.
