On September 28, 1989, the City of Butler and Butler Township joined together to create, the Butler Township-City Joint Municipal Transit Authority. Over the last 20 years, the Authority has had the pleasure of providing over 1.7 million passenger trips in the Butler area.
Transportation is such a vital part of people’s everyday lives, the Authority is honored to serve the transit needs of the community. Ridership continues to grow with BTA reaching a record high year ending fiscal year 08-09 in June with more than 239,000 passenger trips. BTA makes every effort to continue improving the bus system and create greater transportation options for the future.
The Transit Authority would like to thank to the community and elected officials for all the support over the years. BTA recently held an anniversary luncheon to thank past and present board members and elected officials.
